End Grain Cutting Boards

End Grain Cutting Boards
The board serious cooks reach for. Built to last decades.
End grain is the gold standard of cutting board construction — and for good reason. When a knife meets an end grain surface it slides between the wood fibers rather than across them, which means the board self-heals with use, protects your knife edge, and holds up to daily heavy use in a way that face grain and edge grain boards simply can’t match. It’s also the most labor intensive board to build, which is why most people never own one as good as this.
Every Ember Ridge end grain board starts with hand selected hardwood chosen for color, character, and structural integrity. The pieces are cut, arranged, glued, and pressed in a process that requires precision at every step — a single misalignment compounds through the entire build. The result is a board with a pattern across its face that’s part geometry, part grain, and entirely one of a kind.
At 1.75 to 2.25 inches thick, these boards have real weight and presence. Pick one up and you immediately understand the difference between something built to a price point and something built to a standard.
Every board goes through a 7 day finishing process using a proprietary blend of 100% food safe oils and waxes — no shortcuts, no single coat and done. The finish brings out the deep luster and natural color of each wood species and protects the board for years of daily use.
